Southern Exposure

Eco-Adventure Sporting Activities for Absolutely Everyone

Southern Exposure has designed 3  types of eco-adventure programs, Surfing, Biking and Kayaking with an emphasis on team building, environmental awareness and safety.

To help teachers organise their Outdoor Education Programs and School Camps we have developed activities and other services to facilitate the ease of your adventure.
We can develop a school camp program to include all your activities, accommodation and catering.

The outsourcing of activities has gained strong growth in the past few years and as an outdoor adventure operator we must comply with all legislation relevant to our industry.

Aims and Objectives

Outdoor Education Programs and School Camps are an important part of a student’s school life. At Southern Exposure we believe there are three main aims of these programs;

Personal Development
Students are challenged physically, socially and emotionally. Students will think of themselves as people rising to the challenge both on camp and in everyday life:

• “I can pack up my things and get ready to go”
• “I can organise the others when we need to be a team”
• “I can make new friends”
• “I can keep going when I feel like giving up”
• “I don’t know what will happen tomorrow but I will give it a go”

Skill Acquisition
Students acquire and develop recreational skills in the outdoors:

• “I am keen to go to the next level of surfing”
• “I now have my surf bronze medallion”

Values Acquisition
Students further their appreciation of the natural environment; its beauty, grandeur, power and spirituality;

• “I never realised how beautiful dawn is”
• “I was disappointed that the previous group left rubbish around”
• “I have taken fantastic photo’s, it was a great place”
